Join us for a community training event that will dig into what the New Department of Homeless Services and Housing Means for Youth. We will share what The Village and other leading service providers have learned and engage in a dynamic discussion with youth and other stakeholders on the actions needed to achieve systematic change.
Our lineup of speakers and panelists include:
Senator Caroline Menjivar will open the event.
Molly Rysman, Program Implementation Manager at the new Department of Homeless Services and Housing, will deliver our keynote on how LA is restructuring its approach to homelessness.
Jerry Jones, Greater LA Coalition on Homelessness, and La’Toya Cooper, LA Emissary, will join a panel exploring how Prop 1, Measure A, and the Behavioral Health Services Act are reshaping funding and services.
Dr. Julie Cederbaum (USC Social Work) will spotlight the connection between trauma, resilience, and youth homelessness.
Youth leaders will share their stories and insights on why housing alone isn’t enough, and how culturally responsive, affirming services (like the Village provides) can change lives.
